A Letter from Tammy Hall

Peace and Blessings to All!!! -- Let me say Thank You to all who support live performances, not just Jazz performance, but ALL forms of artistic expression. I am truly grateful for the support you give. Better late than never...I've FINALLY updated my calendar and here we are just 2 weeks away from March - let me assure you, I've been awfully busy.

This year started off very well, some highlights include Kim Nalley at Teatro Zinzanni, The Inaugural Bawl at Bimbo's 365 Club, Debbie DeCoudreaux at Teatro Zinzanni, now through Feb.27, The Montclair Women's Big Band performing at this year's Grammy event Mavericks In Music (a Grammy Foundation tribute to Women in the Industry, Wednesday February 9) - a BIG WOW!!!

Please check out my good friend Veronica Klaus' one-woman show Family Jewels: The Making of Veronica Klaus, which opens at the Exit Theatre Thursday, February 17th, 8pm and runs through March 12th. The Exit Theatre is located at 156 Eddy Street, here in San Francisco; you can get more information at SteinBeck Presents We're just getting started, but what a great beginning already.

The Montclair Women's Big Band, still glowing from the 'Grammysphere' is getting ready for our CD release concert at the Jazz School, in Berkeley, Sunday March 6th. I am so proud to be a member of this group of extraordinary women musicians, so come out and hear what I'm bragging about! This is an event not to be missed.

More upcoming highlights: Black History Month events at Jazz At Pearl's including Denise Perrier, Marcus Shelby, Carmen Cansino and yours truly on February 23rd, Frankye Kelly with the Arroyo Viejo Jazz Program students on the 24th and the most soulful David "Fathead" Newman on the 25th and 26th - yes, I'm playing on that one...! Check out www.jazzatpearls.com for more information; Bill Bunn and Shirley Smallwood in Coming Out of the Kitchen at the Empire Plush Room, Tuesday, March 15th; the exquisite Debbie DeCoudreaux at the Empire Plush Room in May - and much more to come.

Thanks again for your love and support and I look forward to seeing and meeting all of you!
