Please join me Sunday May 24th at Keys Jazz Bistro, for a ‘reunion’ concert with soulful vocalist, Rhonda Benin. Rounding out the rhythm section are Ron Belcher on bass andLeon Joyce, Jr. on drums.
Rhonda Benin is a distinguished jazz, blues and soul vocalist, based in the San Francisco Bay Area - originally from Los Angeles’ Crenshaw district. Her voice is often described as '“sweet, sultry, like caramel sweetened with honey, wth a “coolly hip vocal, with a little bit of hush and sugar and an undercurrent of big booming power.” A founding member of Linda Tillery’s Cultural Heritage Choir (for more than two decades), Benin has toured internationally with the ensemble and recorded on seven of their CD’s. She’s shared stages and studios with legendary artist like Taj Mahal, Al Green, Santana, Patti Austin, Janis Ian, Odetta, Wilson Pickett, and Hugh Masekela, among many others.
Performance times are 5 and 7pm.
